I met Rachel at a women in entrepreneurship luncheon and was fascinated by her salt therapy business! This last week I was able to check it out and was excited to learn more about this fascinating health treatment. The boys and I have gone the last two weeks and love it!
Hey Rachel! Tell us more about yourself…
Hi! I’m a big-hearted Texas girl, mom to two sweet kiddos — an energetic 8-year-old daughter and a fun-loving 2-year-old son — and wife to my wonderful husband. My family means the world to me, and I’m passionate about creating a life rooted in wellness, rest, and intentional living through Christ.
We’ve been on a holistic health journey for over 10 years now, slowly learning, growing, and shifting the way we live. I love dancing, spending time with my friends, and I’ll always have a deep love for the mountains after a five-year season in Colorado — but being back in Texas feels like home.
How did you end up in Dripping Springs
Back when I was a student at UT (Hook ‘em!), I used to take little drives out to Dripping Springs with my now-husband. We’d dream about raising a family out here someday and felt drawn to the area. After moving back from Colorado, God opened the door for us to finally make the leap — and we’re so grateful He did. It’s everything we hoped for: peaceful, beautiful, and full of heart.
What do you love most about living in this community?
Definitely the people. There’s a real warmth here — people look out for each other, support small businesses, and show up with genuine kindness. I love that we’re surrounded by nature but still close to everything we need. It’s such a sweet spot for raising a family and building something meaningful.
Tell us about Salt & Light…
Salt & Light is a cozy little wellness studio in the heart of Dripping Springs. We offer salt therapy (halotherapy), infrared sauna, and red light therapy — natural, non-invasive treatments that support healing, breathing, and overall well-being.
Our mission is simple: to help people slow down, breathe deep, and feel better — body, mind, and soul. We’ve created a peaceful space where wellness is accessible, affordable, and welcoming to everyone.
What is salt therapy?
Salt therapy — or halotherapy — is a natural wellness practice that mimics the microclimate of salt caves. In each session, you breathe in microscopic salt particles that help cleanse and soothe the respiratory system, while also supporting skin health and overall relaxation.
How does it work?
We use a halogenerator to disperse pharmaceutical-grade salt into the air during your session. While you relax in a comfortable chair, the salt gets to work — reducing inflammation, clearing the airways, and gently exfoliating the skin. It’s completely touch-free and incredibly calming.
What are the benefits?
Salt therapy can:
- Ease allergy and sinus symptoms
- Support asthma and other respiratory issues
- Calm skin conditions like eczema or acne
- Boost immunity
- Reduce stress and promote deeper sleep
It’s safe for adults, kids, and even babies — many families use it as a go-to for seasonal health and ongoing wellness.
What services do you provide and what are the rates and memberships?
We offer two main wellness experiences:
- The Salt Room – a shared halotherapy space for up to 5 people.
- The Light Room – a private session in a large infrared sauna that provides the option to combine modalities- adding on red light therapy and/or salt therapy as well. Rates:
- Salt Room: $25/session for adults, $10 for kids under 12
- Light Room: Sessions start at $30
- Memberships: Start at $50/month for adults, $15/month for kids
- We offer discounted intro sessions, packages, and gift cards too!
What are your other favorite wellness business spots in Dripping Springs?
We have so many incredible small businesses in this town — it’s honestly hard to narrow it down! I wish I could list out every business and amazing owner who has been supportive and encouraging — not just in the wellness space, but across the whole community.
That said, here are a few standouts I’m grateful for:
- Summer Revival – Right next to Salt & Light, and the perfect post-session stop. Salt and lunch? Yes, please!

- Curis Chiropractic and Max Living (Dr. Courtney) – Dr. Chae and Dr. Courtney both care so deeply and have been incredible connectors and support systems for our community.
- BirthCo – A true lifesaver for me postpartum and a powerful resource for moms and families. They continue to do amazing things here in Drip!
