Imagine driving into the middle of nowhere in central Texas and ending up in a small, unassuming parking lot with a line of people standing outside a small cave entrance. This is what my friend, Jennifer, and I experienced a few days ago when we decided to go and check out A Cave Without A Name‘s underground concert series.

I had seen this on social media and had a free evening to check it out. We arrived and got a water at the little gift shop and then waited in line for the young musicians to change clothes and hike down the hundreds of stairs to the “Throne Room”.

When we began our descent we walked through shallow puddles and beautiful stalagmites hanging from tiny hallways as we stepped down floors into the earth’s belly. When we finally made it into the main room it opened up into this massive room with stunning and otherworldly features.

Everyone was in a hushed awe as they sat in their seats and began taking photos and videos of the scene. Plastic lawn chairs were lined up by at least 200 and then a world class violinist from Paris and his double bass player and electric guitar friend began to fill the room with stunning classical music.

It was definitely something the check off your Texas bucket list!! The music was so beautiful and I was so happy to have experienced it!
