Hey Sandie! What brought you to the Hill Country?
It’s been a life long dream to own a rustic yet creatively styled property and get back to nature. A place where family and friends can gather sharing life celebrations. After residing in the Bee Caves area for a number of years, we have found our dream come true in the hill country!
Why did you fall in love with Mystic Sky Ranch?
The first moment we saw Mystic Sky Ranch it was love at first sight. Amid the countryside, the air had more warmth, more fragrance. In these moments there is a joy that comes in the open landscape, coaxing ones inner energy to flow in ways that weave your soul into the land. It’s where we are supposed to be.
In a time of continued fast moving technology and world affairs, I think we are all seeking ways to truly disconnect, encouraging us to find genuine human connection. Engaging the senses more intensely makes moments stand out. Vacations. Reunions. Holidays. Life Celebrations. The times that bond us with others where we feel warm fuzzies. These are the moments when some of the most powerful memories are formed. Getting away from the routine to explore, rest and recharge, helps us make sense of the relentless onslaught of time.
What do you offer?
With it’s rich history and impressive accommodations, MYSTIC SKY RANCH takes you to the heart and soul of the Hill Country. Just 45 minutes from Austin, our 54 acre property has been welcoming visitors for over 20 years. A 3,000 square foot gourmet kitchen creates the perfect ambiance for your special event. Our event barn is a wonderful option for a covered event while surrounded by nature. The infinity pool entertaining area with outdoor kitchen and stone fireplace is the perfect spot for rest and relaxation. Our guests can schedule a relaxing massage and indulge in the sauna. Yoga classes are offered in the open-air barn event center or poolside. Play a game of Bocce Ball by our outdoor fire pit. Come renew your spirit and emerge revitalized.
We offer 4 private guest casitas (sleeps total of 12). Each casita offers something unique; countryside views, tranquil water features and restful sleeping space. Our casitas have indulgent comfort in mind and we’ve worked tirelessly to deliver an experience like no other. Our fluffy Terry cloth FRETTE bathrobes are luxuriously thick and terribly tempting!
Tell us about your Cooking Classes:
Our commercial kitchen is equipped with everything needed to crank out spectacular meals, both large and small. Our interactive cooking classes take you on a gastronomic journey of discovery where you cook, feed your passion for food, socialize, and, of course, eat!
Whether you’re a foodie or a cooking novice looking to improve your cooking skills, you’ll be making delicious dishes under the guidance of our expert chef instructors. Previous owner Sibby Barrett of Onion Creek Kitchens at Juniper Hills Farms heads up most of our events.
Our classes will give you all the tricks you need, with a healthy dose of warmth and hospitality. Practice new techniques, expand your repertoire and improve confidence in the kitchen. Happy to customize your own Iron Chef Style corporate team building event or private class.
Where should foodies go to eat or shop in the area?
Delicious restaurants include; Summer Revival Wine Co, Rolling in Thyme & Dough, Abby Jane Bakeshop, Great British Baking Company, Redbud Cafe, Tillie’s at Camp Lucys, Jobell Cafe & Bistro( Driftwood) The Leaning Pear (Wimberly) and Vaudeville (Fredericksburg) all of which provide a local hill country feel.
Take a stroll down historic Mercer Street for shopping at Vintage Soul, Fresh Native, Rural Home, Panache and Mercer Street Chic Boutique and Art Gallery.
What are your favorite things to do in this area?
Within a short distance there is much to see and do. Music Festivals, Wine Tastings, Historical sites, Breweries, Shops, Lavender Farm, State Parks for hiking and wild flower drives. Suggested day trips include; Wimberly, Fredericksburg Wine Country and San Antonio.
