The first time I saw the Fitz was when they started dirt work 2 years ago. I was hearing of more and more people who were wanting to live full time in an RV in this area or temporarily while they built their homes and there just weren’t a lot of nice RV parks. I was wowed when I drove into the Fitz! There was a huge dog park with a high energy breed dog running around, a gorgeous pool with rolling hill country views, a beautiful club house with fancy bathrooms with showers and an air conditioned living room!
I have stayed in an RV for a few weeks in a Dripping Springs summer and it can be most miserable without external amenities! The RVs twin ACs may not keep the temp down when it is 100+ outside and you’ve got to keep all of the blinds drawn to preserve cooler temps. It can feel like you’re living in a dark box! The Fitz solves so many of these problems.. .you have community, a luxury pool, a dog park for your pup, fancy showers that aren’t 2 ft by 3 ft, a space to play board games or work on your laptop in the nice AC and so much more!
It is also the nicest RV park that is zoned for DSISD! Do if you are in the middle of building and need to keep your kids in this school system then you can rent a spot at the Fitz!
I met the owners of the Fitz at the DS Education foundation clay shoot a few months ago and was excited to meet them out at the property and show it to you! Meet my new friend, Ashley!
Tell us about yourselves…
The Fitz was built by and owned by two Dripping Springs families, Boogie and Ashley Wittenburg and Denver and Jill Fredenburg. Both families have been in the Dripping Springs area for many years, have kids in the school system, and are active in the community.
How did you get the idea to start The Fitz?
Both families live on the west side of Dripping Springs, and had the idea that a beautiful hill country RV Resort was missing from the landscape, given all the beautiful wedding venues and other attractions in the area.
We felt the area was lacking a high quality RV resorts, which is what led us to create the Fitz.
What sets your RV park apart from others in the area?
Beautiful location, feels remote, yet close to many activities including Pedernales State Park, Reimers Ranch county park, as well as many breweries, wineries, and distilleries.
What do your guests say they love most when visiting?
The love all the places mentioned above, they love the huge dog park, and the upscale amenities such as the showers, laundry room, and our pool that overlooks a valley. We also have great wifi so many folks that work remotely love that.
Are your guests full time RVers or just passing through?
A bit of both. We have folks that will stay several months at a time while they are building a home as we are in DSISD. We have also folks that pass through on weekends as they are coming to experience the Hill Country or to attend a wedding or other event.
Where is your favorite place to take your personal RV for a day trip?
We like to go to the coast. There is an RV resort called Pioneer RV beach resort that we like.
What are some of the best resources for people wanting to learn more about RV life?
We are members of a US wide program called Good Sam, that physically visits your facility and gives it a rating and publishes lots of information. We are the only Good Sam member in the area. Also, are a number of social media influencer types on Instagram that are really good such as:
What do you love about living in Dripping Springs?
Great Schools, Great people, Super vibrant with a lot going on in the area, The most beautiful scenery in Texas by far!
Tell us your favorite places to go and enjoy a night out in the area!
They close early, but we love The Dripping Springs distillery on Bell Springs. Great food and drinks and lots of open space if you have a big group or kids. We also love 12 Fox Brewery on Fitzhugh, Bell Springs Winery, Texas Olive Company, and Summer Revival Wine Company.
