Folklore Spa at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs, Texas
This morning I was able to tour the new spa at Camp Lucy and it was gorgeous!!! I wanted to share some photos and more info with you all for your next spa day.
Folklore Spa is a new wellness space located at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs, Texas. The spa opened on January 29, 2026 and is owned by Kim Hanks, who designed the space around the idea that people should be able to spend time together at a spa instead of being separated or rushed through treatments.

The spa is housed inside an original 1800s Vietnamese town hall from the Ninh Binh region, an area where town halls historically functioned as gathering spaces for celebrations, meetings, and community life.

That history influences the layout and flow of Folklore, which is designed to encourage guests to stay for extended periods and enjoy a day at the spa rather than arrive for a single service and leave. Instead of everyone being shushed at a quiet spa, Folklore is a place to gather and enjoy conversation and make memories.

Unlike traditional quiet spas, Folklore includes shared lounge spaces, a central restaurant, and outdoor areas where conversation is expected rather than discouraged. There are also designated quiet areas like the library and meditation room for guests who prefer silence, but the overall environment is intentionally social.

Art plays a significant role throughout the spa. Kim and her husband collect folk art during their travels all over the world, and the space is filled with handmade pieces, antiques, and carved folk stories rather than fine art installations. Many of the antiques come from her husband’s longtime Austin business, Hanks Antiques.
The artwork includes a collection of 200 custom ceramic pieces created by an Austin-based artist who previously worked at the Austin Zoo and now produces work for Anthropologie.

Folklore Spa has eleven treatment rooms, including rooms designed for couples. Each room is decorated differently and inspired by places Kim and Whit have traveled, with layered wallpaper and curated antiques throughout. Some rooms include showers, and there are dedicated spaces for esthetic services where makeup can be reapplied after facials. Treatment offerings vary from 60 minute massages to full day packages.
View the treatment offering menu HERE.

The spa also includes a separate meditation and movement building made from traditional Vietnamese structures. This space uses Japanese tatami mats and is used for sound baths, Pilates classes, and tea services. Guests are encouraged to spend time in this area before or after treatments.

Outdoor amenities include a seated pool, an enlarged hot tub designed to accommodate multiple groups comfortably, an outdoor shower, a cold bucket, and a sauna with open views to reduce the closed-in feeling common in traditional saunas.

Folklore has its own on-site restaurant, which is separate from Tillie’s at Camp Lucy. The menu is designed to complement the spa experience and is Mediterranean-inspired, vegetable-forward, and lighter in style. Food is available indoors, outdoors, and poolside, making it possible to stay on property for most of the day.

Services at Folklore Spa include massage therapy, couples massage, facials, body treatments, and esthetic services, along with scheduled wellness classes such as sound bathing and movement sessions. Availability varies by day, and reservations are recommended.

Folklore Spa is open Thursday through Sunday and is located within Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs, Texas. Additional information, current services, and booking details can be found at https://folklorespa.com/. I can’t wait to visit and recommend this incredible resort destination to people coming to visit Dripping Springs!
