Dripping Springs High School’s football program has become a symbol of excellence and determination in Texas where Friday Night Lights is not just an addictive TV show (Although I’ve heard that DS local, Kyle Chandler, has helped on the sidelines before!), but a serious way of life.
Led by Athletic Director and Head Coach Galen Zimmerman, the coaching staff includes dedicated professionals like Eric De Los Santos (Defensive Coordinator), Al Peña (Offensive Coordinator), and others who specialize in various positions.
The team’s 2022 performance was exciting to watch! In their first year in Class 6A, the Dripping Springs Tigers finished second in District 6A-26 and advanced to the 6A-D2 Region IV championship game, ending the season with an impressive 12-2 record. The transition from 5A to 6A has been smooth and highly anticipated, and the expectation now is that Dripping Springs will compete for a 6A playoff spot every year!
The Dripping Springs High School football program’s success is not just about winning games; it’s about building character, setting high standards, and creating a legacy that inspires future generations of players. I know that my three sons can’t wait to get to high school and play for DSHS Tigers!

Dripping Springs ISD has implemented a clear bag policy at Tiger Stadium for varsity football games to enhance safety. Allowed bags include clear plastic tote bags (no larger than 12″ x 6″ x 12″), one-gallon plastic freezer bags, and small clutch purses (smaller than 4.5″ x 6.5″). Bags not allowed include backpacks, purses, binocular or camera cases, diaper bags, fanny packs, cinch bags, and printed pattern or oversize tote bags.
The north parking lot is also now easily accessible from the brand new Roger Hanks Parkway connecting RR12 to HWY290 around the High School and is restricted to only fans who have purchase reserved parking passes.
The football field is located at 940 US-290, Dripping Springs, TX behind the high school campus.
