If you’re like me, always on the lookout for a new local spot to explore, then let me tell you about a place we finally went to as a family! It’s the Twisted X Brewing Company, a casual, but trendy brewery tucked away just a few minutes south of downtown Dripping Springs close to the corner of HWY 290 and FM 150.
Located near 2 of my favorite neighborhoods Howard Ranch and Caliterra and next to Cedar Break lodging (think rustic tiny cabins, sweet RV spots, a tobacco event barn and a quaint general store), Twisted X has a vibe that’s both down-to-earth and buzzing with energy.
I’m no beer expert, but the people at Twisted X sure are! They’ve got everything from light lagers to hoppy IPAs, and each one tastes like it’s been brewed with care and passion.
The best part? They’re always experimenting with new flavors in their 3-barrel pilot system, so there’s always something new to try. I always love seeing their “McConauhaze” car drive through every parade in Dripping Springs.
Their tasting room is where the magic happens. It’s a cozy spot with a friendly vibe where you can kick back and enjoy the best of Texas craft beer. Dripping Springs is know as “Drinking Springs” because of all of the breweries, wineries and distilleries in the area.
People flock to this area for weekend drinking and brew tours and Twisted X is always on the list!
Twisted X just launched The Buffalo Nickel, and my husband has told me that he has had the BEST hamburger in town there! Led by Culinary Director Max Frisbie, this place is set to offer some seriously tasty rustic Texas cuisine. Think hot chicken sandwiches, mouth-watering burgers, and more – all perfect to pair with your favorite beer.
We took the family and they had already sold out of the hamburgers and we snatched the last of the hot chicken sandwiches before the sunset. We sat outside in the glorious winter sun and enjoyed the spicy sandwich covered in pickle slaw!
What I love most about Twisted X is the sense of community. It’s more than just a brewery; it’s a place where locals and visitors come together to share good times. Whether you’re a neighbor from Howard Ranch or a traveler staying in one of Cedar Break‘s cabins, you’re sure to feel right at home here.
