I’ve been visiting the Arnosky blue barn since 2006 when my Aunt Bren first took us there while visiting Wimberley. She had moved to Wimberley to open up Kiss The Cook on the Wimberley square and has always been my connection to the fun things to do in that town.
The blue barn quickly became one of my favorite destinations.
We would visit it with my Grandmom and mom and my Grandmom would just be taken back by the colors and beauty of the place. She was a life-long gardener and a water color artist and would always paint country scenes and colorful flowers in her artwork.
I loved seeing her light up and be in awe of the beauty- it brought me so much joy!
When I visit the Arnosky barn I feel like I’m being transported back to the 1940s with it’s traditional German-style barn, honor system payment process and hardworking owners.
It takes you back to the feeling of an America that felt untainted by excess and entitlement and reminds you that to cultivate beauty you’ve got to WORK hard!
When you pull in to the 20 acre flower farm, depending on the season, you will see fields of poppies, marigolds, celosias, and more!
They sell vegetables, herbs and fresh cut flowers inside the barn. Sometimes you will run in to the owners, Pamela and Frank, who have been growing flowers for over 30 years, but most of the time there isn’t anyone inside except for the cute barn cats and other visitors.
You pick your purchase, write down a receipt of your flowers and plants on a little sticky note and then attach it to cash or check that you put into the red cash box. It really is quite a unique experience, and I love it!
I recommend this place to every visitor who is coming to Dripping or Wimberley just so that they can see the beauty and be transported to another time.
Arnosky Flower Farm is open daily from 9-5 PM daily and is located at 13977 FM 2325 Blanco, Texas.
Bring your checkbook or cash and be sure to take photos while you are there!
If you aren’t able to drive out in between Wimberley and Blanco to visit then you can pick up their fresh cut flower bouquets at HEBs across the area! They sell in 20 grocery stores across the area!
Across the street there is a new lavender farm… maybe I’ll get over there in the spring and show you that place, too!
