It’s supposed to be high 90s for the next week and that’s got me thinking about planning trips to all of my favorite TEXAS SWIMMING HOLES!!! I wanted to show you one of the best kept secrets in the Texas Hill Country… Krause Springs in Spicewood, Texas.
Just a short 45 minute drive north of Dripping Springs, Krause Springs looks like a Hawaii oasis in the hill country!
There is a spring fed swimming pool at the top of the grotto that sends a beautiful waterfall into the river below.
The grounds are full of picnic areas, trails and well manicured landscaping. It was a perfect mix of pool swimming, thrill seeking in the dark cave under the waterfall and adrenaline pumping jumps from the boulder on the Cypress tree swing.
The water is COLD (68 degrees year round) so be prepared to go on a hot day!
My boys enjoyed taking a break from the cold water by building different dams on the eroded rock near the water’s edge. It’s a perfect activity and area for younger kids with some shallow areas for them to sit and play.
I love raising my boys to explore nature and test their physical limits in God’s wonders. I love how it has built their confidence and made them take risks that bring fun and amazing memories.
The park is open from 9AM-8 PM and costs $9/adults, $5/kids from 4-12, and FREE for 4 and under!
The park has 32 springs on the property and you can explore down the river to find more on their 115 acre property that has been privately owned by the Krause family for over 50 years! You can even camp here!
